Questions and Answers

Why is there cosmetic surface rust on the cradle in the photos?
Yes, frequently. Even if the year, make, and model are identical, the mounting brackets for the transmission mounts welded onto the cradle can vary dramatically between automatic, manual, or CVT transmissions. Always confirm your vehicle's transmission type before ordering.
Are the lower control arms, sway bars, or engine mounts included?
Because crossmembers sit at the lowest point of the vehicle chassis, they are directly exposed to road salt, puddles, and debris. Superficial surface rust or paint flaking is completely standard for a used OEM structural part. Every single cradle we sell is strictly inspected to ensure it is structurally sound, has zero rot-through holes, and has completely solid metal thickness.
Are engine cradles different for vehicles with manual vs. automatic transmissions?
Yes, absolutely. A crossmember for a 4-cylinder model often has completely different engine mount brackets and clearance curves than one built for a V6 or V8 variant of the exact same vehicle. You must match your engine size precisely to the specifications in our listing.
Does my engine size (Liters/Cylinders) affect which crossmember I need?
Generally, no. AWD and 4WD vehicles require a crossmember with a larger central clearance cutout to accommodate the front differential, transfer case, and passenger-side drive axles. A standard FWD cradle will block these components from mounting. Always check your vehicle's drivetrain type before purchasing.
This listing is for the metal crossmember/cradle structure itself. If any rubber bushings, sway bars, or brackets are left attached in the photos, they are included strictly as a free convenience. Because rubber items wear out over time, we always recommend installing fresh bushings and engine mounts during the swap while the subframe is out of the vehicle.
